Why We Pray

Luke 21:34-37
"But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. 35 For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 WATCH THEREFORE, AND PRAY ALWAYS that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man."
Three things that will weigh down our hearts and keep us from watching.
1. Carousing (A party spirit: eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow we die.)
2. Drunkenness (Out of touch with reality)
3. Cares of this Life (Matthew 13)

1 Peter 4:7-8
7 The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. 8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
